Veteran Graves
Boy Scouts have been flagging the graves of veterans in our small cemeteries for years, putting out the flags each year a few days before Memorial Day. It is a process repeated all across the Powell’s Valley and the country each year. Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) with its roots in the American Civil War 165 years ago, has always been a time to mark graves and remember sacrifices.
